Trash Movie

This little gem of a movie was given to us by our friend Jessica. It never ceases to amuse me.

Here is the gist of what they are saying....

We are the six from the trash pick-up, trash pick-up, trash pick-up...
We start every morning at 7 o'clock, 7 o'clock, 7 o'clock
(I haven't listened closely to the next bit, but when I figure it out,
I'll let you know) I think that they are saying that we care about trash
and all trash must be taken away? (If anyone whose German is better
than mine has an idea, please let me know!)

then....
I, I drive the garbage truck, garbage truck, MY garbage truck

We both quickly roll the trash cans to the corner to the corner, in front of the house

I dump the trash out.....

We take the trash back to the house...

Pretty self explanitory, huh?
It's a catchy jingle that often gets stuck in my head. Hopefully you'll find it equally as amusing!

Highlights of this video:
The 4th guy won't let anyone else hold the microphone the first guy isn't sure what to do with his hands.
The 2nd and 3rd guy are really animated and really way too into this video
and finally,
the last two guys look like neanderthals, yet somehow have pretty decent harmony there at the end.

You never count your fishes...

Reminds me of a little ditty that me and my coworker wrote once...

In the key of C to the melody of Kenny Rodger's Gambling Song.

First there's the head cut
Then there's the neck drill,
He runs em through and they scoop 'em out..

You never count your fishes when your working on the slim line,
There'll be time enough for countin... when the slimin's through.

Then theres the gut belt
That the fish guts ride up on
They fall to the table
And we sort them out...

You never count your fish eggs when your working on the gut belt,
There'll be time enough for weighing... when the guttin's through...

Number 2 must have a boring job.

I love Alaska Stories!!!

Was gutting a fish a boring job, thus warrenting a song?

If number 2 really is the writer/producer, I'm shocked that he got the other 5 guys to go along with it. It'd be interesting to do more of an in depth character study on each of these men based on their performance in this video!!

Our head shapes match

in these two pictures...

Cool huh?

I love the new picture!!!! but you looks so serious! Is that because you are being all alert and aware so that your head doesn't get crushed by some large falling object?

Gut Belt

Working the gut belt was... but then again, I probably would make a song out of any tideous/manual labor type of job...

You'll have to ask Juli if workiing on the slim line warrented a song... She'd probably say that it was too busy to think up songs.

Camera shy

The other four are really just camera shy. You have to remember that this is probably the first time they ever did something like this. "The four of them probably were singing one day and number 2 said, Hey let's put this on video. Ralph you have a camera and right?"

I'm thinkin'. . .

That maybe the second guy, the one who is really into it is the author and producer to this little production. . . see how he taps his foot. . . knows everyones lines . . kind of sings along with everyone else?

Joni's picture

Agreed!

He seems the most "in to it." Yet, why is it the fourth guy who gets to hold the microphone???

I think its cut off at the end because the last two guys couldn't remember the rest of their lines... What do you think?

Ending, again

Actually I relistened to it.. and I think it does end... or at least the jingle... The music is cut off and they don't sing the chorus again so it doesn't sound right to our ears. I think it also because I am so caught up in the catchy jingle, that when it ends I am dissapointed! Sigh

It was probably 2 that wrote the jingle. But it is definately microphone's equipment. He's a bit possessive indicating that he doesn't want someone else touching his high priced equipment.

"We take care of every piece

"We take care of every piece of trash, every piece of trash, trash must go!"

What nice fellas.

Joni's picture

Thanks for the help!

They sure are great, aren't they?

sista's picture

But what about the end?

Thanks for clearing up the missing part... but the end... It just doesn't end on a major cord like most songs are supposed to!

Joni's picture

I'm not sure...

I just found it on the internet, and can't be held responsible :-)
I'll try to find a better version sometime, so we can know what happens to the nice Trash pick-up men from Köln!

Ending?!?

There's no ending! I was really excited and then, wham, the end was broken off!

I SOOOO want to share this with the staff of the Scott County Waste Commission. I'll keep you posted on the response.
